The Acrolites shells were fashioned from aluminum and the Supraphonics were (as previously noted) fashioned from brass; in the early sixties they switched to a copper alloy to save money. The Supraphonics were chrome-plated and the Acrolites were not. WebOct 2, 2011 · Both. But for the first one, get the 14x6.5. It can be a little more flexible than the 5 because the 5 can't do a deep tone convincingly. The 6.5 covers the tuning ranges pretty well. The only thing you'd miss would some of the cracking power that the 5 will get you, but with the right setup the 6.5 can sound similar.

Both are different, but with aspects in common. The Supraphonic is drier, where as the Black Beauty is a little more complex with a bit of "honk".
