In order to get a Distinction (the Oxford equivalent of an A), you need to get an average of over 67 on your top 5 essays, and also get a grade of over 70 on your thesis. I love the idea of having that much academic freedom, but it seems as though there's barely any instruction at all. Students meet with professors only once every two weeks, and from what I can tell, there aren't many group classes/seminars.
