The round-action originates from 1879, when MacNaughton patented a hammerless design featuring tumblers and mainsprings attached to a triggerplate that could be removed with the guard. WebJohn Dickson & Son was established 1820 in Edinburgh. By 1880 the round-action patent had been filed, and the company subsequently gained renown for mastering the trigger-plate, round action side by side. The iconic Dickson Round Actions were prized for their balance, elegance and liveliness.
